Why aesthetic medicine?

Cicero said “if the face is the mirror of the soul, the eyes are its interpreters”.

Thanks to our muscular movements, our emotions create facial expressions. They show our personality to our interlocutors and enable us to relate to others. However, these movements have an impact on the skin, and over time expression lines appear. A change in the way we look at things can have a real impact on how we interact and decode information.

For over 30 years, ophthalmologists have been treating strabismus and blepharospasm with botulinum toxin. It wasn’t until the 2000s that this neuromodulator received market authorization to prevent the appearance of expression lines.

It was therefore logical for an ophthalmology group to work on the prevention of eye damage, from both a medical and aesthetic point of view. So the ONO Group decided to launch its own brand, ONO Estetika®.
