Why spider veins?

Spider veins are small red or bluish veins, sometimes converging in a fan shape, which appear on the legs and feet. In most cases, they are harmless and represent a purely aesthetic problem for those affected. However, they can also be an indication of congenital connective tissue weakness or deeper vein problems. Nowadays there are very good treatment methods for getting rid of unsightly veins.

Removing and sclerosing spider veins

Spider veins can be either reddish or bluish. All spider veins have their origin in small veins. At our ono estetika clinic in Zurich, we offer the laser method with the NdYag or Alexandrite laser, or a combination of the two.

Treatment is preferably carried out in winter. Direct sunlight and tanning beds should be avoided for at least 12 weeks after treatment. You should also refrain from visiting the sauna/steam bath for at least 2 weeks.

If necessary, further treatment can take place after 4-6 weeks. Wearing compression stockings can be helpful, but is not absolutely necessary.
